The washing machine ate my favorite pants this week!!
They were the special pair that I wore to be comfortable in!
I think the UPS lady liked it when I answered the front door in them too, but now they are ruined!
These pants were soft and comfy. They had become thread bare because of countless washings and countless hours sitting in front of my sewing machine.

They were my favorites! They just didn’t survive the most recent trip into the washer and dryer.
They were the first ones that I grabbed after a long day and will be greatly missed.
Some people would be embarrassed to show such a pathetic sight publicly, but I am not embarrassed in the least. I know many of you have a similar pair of ratty old comfy pants that you love and will understand.
I thought that I might be able to repair them, but when I saw the size of the hole, I knew it was impossible.
Mary suggested this photo at the scene of the crime, with one of our fabrics filling the hole to show just how big it is. She is always so helpful and supportive!!

I have already begun breaking in my new pants.

My mother gave them to me today. She found them on the sale rack a while back but never got around to wearing them. They look like they might fill the void. They are soft, have an elastic waistband and just might work.
Wish me luck.
Good bye old friend ~ Hello new possibilities.

This hits a warm spot in my heart…I too have had my favorite comfort pants go to a better place. Out with the old and in with the new!!
R.I.P.
Oh….
And that means Rip In Pants not Rest In Peace
By the way….
At least you could throw them out. I have been known to keep wearing shirts that have several large holes in them. They are my work shirts. I work at home, alone. I really don’t see the problem. They had to be taken from me against my will. Sigh. I still miss the orange one. Really bad.
There is an advantage to work at home, and be your own boss (most of the time, we can pretend the remainder)
We are free to wear whatever, as we answer to no one – just remember that.
And you get points for being frugal

Oh I loved those pants! Hurry go get them out of the trash and we can make a pattern from them. I’ll share the profit with you.
Oh No! That’s disastrous! I better rush right out and get a second pair of my favs since I now know what’s gonna happen. Thanks for the advance warning. What a great service you provide. LOL (the “other” Anne)
loved the dog pic that was not going to be in the blogs….so the pants still have a purpose, for the cutest dog on the planet. But we must talk..i can name two others in that competion
congrats on the new blog! Anne from Bunny Hill sent me here!!
I loved this post! Aren’t those comfy pants the best. If we can’t laugh life would be dull. Thanks for the laugh.
Wow, that is one serious hole! You could applique a GIANT patch over it, but on the bright side, old flannel pants make great dusting rags. BTW, Anne Sutton sent me over here to welcome you…I’ve been a fan of your patterns forever but never saw your blog…now I know why…you never had one
