Mary and I have already been working on the new patterns that go with these new fabrics.

In a few weeks Mary and I are going on our bi annual quilting retreat. We have been quilting with these ladies for over 15 years and look forward to this every time it rolls around.
This time I would like to make some small gifts for our special group. Since Easter is just around the corner, I think that I will try to get some egg pincushions made. I could leave a little surprise at every ones sewing station.

We will see how far I get with this project ~ maybe a fat quarter will do just as well!

Wish me luck!
Barb
To celebrate national quilt day we will be giving away this fat quarter bundle!

Its from our very first fabric group “Petal Pushers”.
This group sold out long ago ~ so this fat quarter bundle is not available anywhere else.
Leave a comment before Thursday, March 25th and 39 impossible to find fat quarters could be yours!
Have a great day quilting!

Did you know that Moda has a fabric library?
Well they do… and in that library they have several yards of every fabric Moda has ever printed.
They have so many different fabrics that they have recently had to downsize the inventory in that library.
Mr. Dunn, the owner of Moda fabrics, decided to let each of the designers choose an old group and sent each of us 3 yards of our chosen group.
We picked our first fabric group “Petal Pushers”, and have decided to share our good fortune with you.

We have cut the entire windfall into fat quarters and made fabric bundles. We will be giving these bundles away throughout the year at retreats, shows, and right here on our blog someday.
These fabrics are no longer available and very special to us ~ since they were our first.
You never know where a bundle might show up!

Our new “Favorites” group for Moda is at the top of my list!!
My favorite chocolate is… chocolate covered peanuts.
My favorite pre cuts are… Jelly Rolls and Charm Packs.
My favorite movie actress…Meryl Streep.
My favorite pattern…our Frog Patch Frog made with a Favorites charm pack.
Visit our post at the Fat Quarter Shop and count how many times we used the word “favorite”.
Leave a comment with your guess and you could win these favorite things.

The winner will be selected on Wednesday March 17th.
My favorite dog is… Bella and the name of our new market group is “Happy”… but you can’t have my dog ever or the fabric until September!
Good Luck!

I just finished the bindings on 21 little charm quilts!

That’s hand sewing around 84 corners!
I have so many holes in my fingers that for some reason they no longer bleed. I have tried wearing a thimble, but I just stop using the finger that its on.
Now that all the bindings are finished I can get the quilts in the mail to Leisure Arts next week. Our new book is scheduled to be released this fall and I can’t show you the quilts yet or give you the book name, but I can tell you that they are all made using charm squares. There are seven different patterns and each will be shown in 3 different color ways.
My fingers should be healed by the time the book is released ~ I hope!
I think I deserve some chocolate for all my hard work and blood loss!
Off to the kitchen I go!
